Analytics
Monitor consent rates, visitor interactions, and geographic distribution with visual charts and metrics.
Overview
The Analytics dashboard provides real-time insights into how visitors interact with your cookie consent banner. Track acceptance rates, identify trends, and understand your audience.
Access analytics from the Analytics page in your dashboard. Select a domain to view its data.
Key Metrics
Four key metrics are displayed at the top of the analytics dashboard.
Pageviews
Total number of page loads where the Cookient script was active. This includes all visitors, whether they interacted with the banner or not.
Consent Interactions
Number of times visitors made a consent choice (accepted, rejected, or customized). Does not include visitors who ignored the banner.
Consent Rate
Percentage of interactions where visitors accepted at least some cookies (full accept + partial accept). Higher is better for analytics and marketing.
Accept Rate
Percentage of interactions where visitors clicked "Accept All" (full consent to all cookie categories).
Time Range
Filter analytics data by selecting a time period from the dropdown.
Consent Trend
The Consent Trend chart shows how consent choices change over time as a line graph.
Tracked Lines
Hover over any point on the chart to see the exact numbers for that day. Use this chart to spot trends like weekday vs weekend patterns or the impact of banner design changes.
Consent Breakdown
The donut chart shows the overall distribution of consent choices for the selected period.
Consent Types
- Accepted
Visitor accepted all cookie categories. All scripts and tracking enabled.
- Rejected
Visitor rejected all non-essential cookies. Only functional/security cookies active.
- Partial
Visitor customized their preferences, accepting some categories but not others.
The chart displays percentages and absolute numbers. A healthy consent rate typically shows more green (accepted) than red (rejected).
Geographic Data
The Top Countries chart shows where your visitors are located, displayed as a horizontal bar chart.
How It Works
- Country is determined from the visitor's IP address
- Shows the top 10 countries by consent interactions
- Country codes are converted to full names (US → United States)
- Unknown locations are grouped as "Unknown"
Device Breakdown
See how consent interactions are distributed across device types.
Device Types
Device information is derived from the visitor's User-Agent header. Use this data to ensure your banner looks good on all device types.
Interpreting Your Data
Here are some tips for understanding and improving your consent metrics.
Low Accept Rate?
- • Review your banner design – is it clear and non-intrusive?
- • Check your banner text – explain benefits of accepting cookies
- • Consider banner position – bottom bar often performs best
- • Ensure mobile responsiveness – banner should be easy to use on all devices
High Partial Rate?
- • Visitors are engaged and making informed choices
- • Review which categories are being rejected most
- • Consider if your cookie descriptions are clear
- • This can indicate privacy-conscious audience
Mobile vs Desktop Gap?
- • Check banner appearance on mobile devices
- • Ensure buttons are easily tappable (min 44px touch target)
- • Test scrolling behavior – banner shouldn't block content
- • Consider position differences for mobile users
Geographic Patterns?
- • EU visitors may be more privacy-conscious due to GDPR awareness
- • Consider language settings for international audiences
- • Different regions may have different consent behaviors
