Cancellation Policy

Cancel Anytime

You can cancel your Cookient subscription at any time. There are no long-term contracts or cancellation fees. When you cancel, you'll continue to have access to your paid features until the end of your current billing period.

How to Cancel

You can cancel your subscription through your account settings:

  1. Log in to your Cookient account
  2. Go to Settings → Subscription
  3. Click "Cancel Subscription"
  4. Confirm your cancellation

Alternatively, you can contact us at [email protected] and we'll process your cancellation for you.

What Happens When You Cancel

During Your Remaining Billing Period

After cancellation, you'll retain full access to all paid features until the end of your current billing period. Your cookie consent banners will continue to work normally.

After Your Billing Period Ends

Once your paid subscription ends:

  • Your account will be downgraded to free status
  • Your cookie consent banners will stop working on your websites
  • You'll lose access to premium features (analytics, automatic scanning, etc.)
  • Your consent logs will be retained (see Data Retention below)
  • Your domain and banner configurations will be preserved

Data Retention After Cancellation

We retain your data after cancellation as follows:

  • Account data: Your account, domain configurations, and banner settings are retained indefinitely, allowing you to resubscribe at any time without losing your setup.
  • Consent logs: Stored for up to 5 years from the date of collection to comply with GDPR audit requirements.
  • Analytics data: Retained for 12 months after cancellation.

Requesting Data Deletion

If you want your data permanently deleted after cancellation, you can request this by contacting us at [email protected]. We will delete your account and all associated data within 30 days, except for consent logs which must be retained for legal compliance.

Reactivating Your Subscription

If you change your mind, you can reactivate your subscription at any time:

  • Before your billing period ends: Simply go to Settings and click "Resume Subscription" to cancel your cancellation.
  • After your billing period ends: Choose a new plan from the Pricing page. Your previous configurations will be restored.

Lifetime Plans

Lifetime plans do not require cancellation as there are no recurring payments. Your access remains active indefinitely. If you wish to close your account entirely, contact us at [email protected].
